Product Description

A rail shoulder is a pre-inserted item in concrete sleepers, whether for single stem or twin stem types. It is used to fix elastic rail clips, primarily e-clips, within the fastening system.

We are capable of producing two main types of rail shoulders: cast-in shoulders and weld-on shoulders.

Casting Rail Shoulders

Cast-in shoulders are manufactured using iron casting. These are pre-embedded in concrete sleepers and work in conjunction with elastic clips to secure the rail. Material options include M.C.I. (malleable iron) and S.G.C.I. (spheroid graphite iron). Available grades include QT600-3, QT700-2, ZG25, ZG35, and ZG45.

Standards: GB/T 1348-1988, NF EN 1563, ISO1038, DIN 1693, JIS G5502, KS D 4302, GOST 7293, or BS EN 1563.

Weld-on Shoulder

Weld-on shoulders are produced via hot forging. They are ideal for locations where standard sleepers cannot be easily utilized, allowing shoulders to be welded onto flat steel base plates. This enables the fabrication of rail retaining units on both steel ties and base plates, typically following AREMA standards. These shoulders are compatible with Pandrol style clips ranging from 30lbs to 113lbs.

Special Rail Shoulder

Specialized shoulders can also be produced through hot forging. These are used with rail clip bolts and specific rail clips to fasten the rail, utilizing low or mid-carbon steel materials.
